Andrea Jupina

Researcher and Consultant

A senior search consultant with extensive experience in candidate development, Andrea Jupina distinguished her search credentials by writing two editions of The Recruiters’ Research Blue Book: A How-To Guide, published by Kennedy Information. Breaking ground in the market, the book filled an information vacuum.

Having trained at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where she began as a freelance researcher in 1977, Ms. Jupina has been in business since 1983, when she established a New York City consultancy as a solo practitioner, later developing strategic allegiances in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. In 1993 and 1994, she managed her search practice as a Vice President and later a Senior Vice President under the auspices of Boyden, a global executive search firm. Today, she is the founder and Managing Principal of Jupina & Company.

A search generalist, she lends assignments her innovative thinking, broad vision that crosses cultures, creative problem solving, and meticulous attention to detail. Over more than 20 years, she has conducted assignments in virtually all industries and functions—CEO, management consulting, international, finance, academic leadership, human resources, public relations, development, academic nursing leadership, the United Nations Development Programme, and others.
At its inception in 1983, the consultancy Ms. Jupina established was a pioneer in guiding banks and companies in using innovative, highly effective non-traditional recruitment techniques, such as “unbundling” classic search products. She is an expert in using time-tested, proven research techniques to find top-caliber candidates not on the job market—which is the essence of good research.

Ms. Jupina was honored to serve as a member of the Advisory Council for the Women’s International Leadership Program at International House in New York, which was founded by David Rockefeller in 1924. A graduate of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Ms. Jupina has served on the Board of Directors of the University’s Alumni Association. She has been recognized for entrepreneurship by the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges.

Ms. Jupina is a charter member of the Research Roundtable in New York, now known as the Executive Search Roundtable. Founded in 1979, it was the first research driven association in the search industry in the world. She is a founder of the Stuyvesant Group International, a strategic alliance of business and legal advisors in New York, Amsterdam and Paris. Ms. Jupina has served on the Squash and Athletics Committee of the Princeton Club of New York. Her interests include global business and generating possibility in work, play and life. She has served as the campaign manager for a third-party candidate for U.S. Senate. Whenever possible, she travels abroad, studying language, writing, consulting, and performing as a flutist. She writes “Accidentally Delicious,” a column about food and cooking in the Vallarta Tribune.
